Slightly makes me think of California + the teeny tiniest dash of Garden District in New Orleans in a couple.

I agree. It looks very American, to me. A lot of SoCal and a little...a little...je ne sais quoi mixed in.

Or maybe it's the american mansions which can look like european, sometimes in a caricatural way.

This looks exactly like the wealthy neighborhoods in older parts of West LA. I mean, exactly. I thought I clicked on the wrong thread.

I could swear the last six or so photos are from West Hollywood, just off Sunset.

I think number 9 reminds a Californian house because of its white frontage, palm trees,...... and blue sky.... Number 3 and 10 are "neo-mauresque style" inspired by north African style which was popular in the early 20th century.
There is another beautiful "mauresque" house in my area but the best spot to photograph it is from the highway. I'll try to take a picture during the next traffic jam.

This one is called Sylvacanne, it has been built in 1939 and remind (a little) a cruise ship.
