Ah, thank you. That's one step ahead of Ottawa. The media has had the chance to visit a few stations (Blair and Tremblay) and take a short ride (Tremblay to uOttawa) and see part of the tunnel (small stretch before Rideau Station for the "last spike" ceremony), but the public has had no such opportunity, other than the Kontinuum light show in the summer of 2017 which was held in Lyon Station.

Doug Ford says if Hamilton's mayor wants LRT, he'll get LRT

'If someone gets elected, let 'em govern,' Ford said of Fred Eisenberger and his pro-LRT platform

Samantha Craggs · CBC News · Posted: Nov 28, 2018

Premier Doug Ford says if Hamilton's mayor wants a light rail transit (LRT) system, he's going to get one.

Ford visited Grimsby Wednesday to announce money for West Lincoln Memorial Hospital. He also told reporters he's still committed to Hamilton's planned LRT system. The province, under the previous Liberals, committed $1 billion to build it.

I was riding the Skytrain recently and thought about the Confed line... Very much alike. Grade separated with a mix of underground, at grade and elevated.

Interestingly almost all of the platforms were just closed for the winter so they don't have to do winter maintenance. So much for people getting close

C'mon, dream big! Why not a grade-separated skytrain like Vancouver (if city finance permits)?

Also, is it supposed to run along Highway 1 (Portage Avenue then Fermor Avenue)? Is there any thread in the SK-MB Subforum about this?

Saskatoon will have grade-separated LRT before Winnipeg. Saskatoon will also probably have a five-level stack interchange before Winnipeg has a true freeway.

Looks like the White mud crossing.

Just had a meeting on this project. Expect full speed ahead for the rest of the line in the next month.

Based on the bridge photos alone, there is no way the Valley Line will be done by Fall 2020.

Are they adding a new entrance to the underground Churchill Station?

No just a new entrance. This one comes down about where the pedway between Edmonton Centre and the Citadel runs.

Big push is starting now. Also noticed the crews were working at the Bonniedoone site all weekend.

I can see the bridge from my office now. Doe not look like she is moving much but once the Pylons are none the bridge itself will go in quickly.

I'd say Winnipeg will have to build rail public transport soon, the population is reaching 1 million, and downtown is getting more dense, it has to done sooner or later

Winnipeg is the HQ of the New Flyer bus company. I doubt they would build rail. They'll probably continue to just expand the BRT system.

Winnipeg can't be trusted with an LRT or Streetcar network.
