What a violent comment for such an important and elegant piece of modern architecture. I love it, I love eveything about it!

I don't know.
The area is not very touristy. Far from Montmartre, Notre Dame or the Champs Elysées.
Besides, I reckon that it's not easy to lose one's way in Paris. The street map is not tricky.

It is far to be the ugliest building of Paris or if you thinks this you don't have a accurate vision of Paris.
The Montparnasse tower is not in front of 7 floors haussmanian building.

View of Montparnasse tower and the district around.

The roof! The roof! The roof is....up high!

One of the best observation perches I've found...anywhere in the world.

What a BEAST! Love this building, mostly cause it stands out like Shaq Diesel visiting China. Put this building in Chicago or Houston, you would NOT be able to spot it.

Say what you want about this tower, but I find it absolutely gorgeous, it's simple elegant design is striking, the dark color of the building reflects that of the eiffel tower and I would even be in favor of a darker facade, perhaps a darkening of the white vertical lines. It stands out but I believe it fits paris better than any conventional skyscraper could.

The only problem is the base of the structure and how it interacts with the street, I would be in favor of a renovation, but to change the design or color of the building itself would be a tragedy.

True and that's the main problem of Montparnasse tower and many projects built during the 60's 70's.

So is the building still despised by Parisians?
