oh! it's 10th Avenue that goes past crowchild... I walked through sunalta on 11th and 12th the other day but didn't go down 10th. (wasn't impressed with what I saw on 11&12th!!) so I continued down to the river... interesting pic.

Yep, it just barely continues past for a block of small industrial/office buildings (nothing different then most of the rest of 10th ave on the east side) then it ends just before the pathway running from up by the Golf course comes down to the river

Hope you enjoy

CBC is doing a "What makes your neighbourhood unique?" photo contest:

http://www.cbc.ca/calgary/photogallery/2089/

Time to go and get some sweet Beltline shots and represent! I'm thinking a shot on the south side of 17th avenue, looking northwest with plenty of pedestrians and Montana rising in the background. Really showing how Beltline is the MOST dynamic and exciting community in the city.

Swerve magazine (the Herald) also has a contest running for a non-traditional "iconic" image of Calgary. Deadline is the 3rd of June

Calgary then and Now

With all the growth in the city, I'm wondering if people have "then and now" pictures locations in the city to share. Here's my contribution:

Calgary 2002 from my room with a view

Calgary today (I will try to get better images as the Bow goes up)

My neighbors just chopped down the tree that was obscuring my view of the belt line, so now I can get decent panos again

More pics of Lilac Fest 2009 by Jimby and myself. Huge crowd and perfect weather--a mix of sun and cloud--not too hot, not too cold.
