OMG! did that guy jump off of success tower!!!!...

It seems WAY too short though for a base jump. the thing only lasted like 3 seconds before he pulled the shoot.

Security around construction sites is so low... I remember 2 guys jumped off the Burj Dubai (Khalifa) while it was still u/c without being noticed... I gotta try it one day! .. the Ritz carlton would be cool..

and i just noticed it too! That guy looks EXACTLY like the Quebecer from Just for laughs!!! NO JOKE!

OMG! MLS looks amazing at night time (when you cant really see the aqua blue lightboxes). the total center of attraction !... they look great from the east. ICE will also look really cool cause it'll be SOO different than anything downtown...

The scariest thing about that photo is that there are another 6 Towers being built right now that will increase the density in a major way.

^ Great photos. Speaking of density...

Officedweller in the Vancouver forum snapped a great shot of The Georgia today.

^ Yikes! That's some serious density hotel Georgia has got going. You could open a window in the hotel and pass a note to a person in the building behind.

The models of Absolute world look AMAZING!.. they look similar (but slightly worse) in real life... i'm sure when more balcony cladding arrives, it'll look better!

It would have been cool to see these towers go up in say, dubai, because they would have made these at least twice as tall

Oh steveve, becareful talking about dubai here....
lol!!

Mississauga and North York are now competing for 4th, 5th and 6th best skylines in Canada.

Advantage to Mississauga having the fourth best skyline:

Pros:
1. Unique Design Skyscrapers
2. Good Height at 180 meters and 160 Meters.
3. Nice Separation between towers
4. Massive development on the Horizon through Amacon ( 30 brand new skyscrapers, being built right now)

Negatives:
1. It's a suburb for god's sake
2. Too much surface parking
3. Too many cars
4. Streets too wide
5. Not walkable, whatever the fk Hazel is saying
6. Boring as ALLHELL

North York for one of the best skylines in Canada....

1. amazing density
2. walkable
3 lots of tall brand new skyscrapers
4. Building the tallest suburban skyscrapers in Canada outside of Mississauga. Hullmark Centre, and Gibson Square.

Negatives:

NONE!!

North York doesn't have the height of Mississauga, but it does have better density, and there is lots more to do. It's got subway lines criscrossing it's streets. And it's getting way more development on the horizon, as the Concord develop brings 45 brand new skyscrapers to the Ikea Lands north of south of Sheppard and north of the 401.

The tallest Tower on the Horizon for North York is Hullmark Centre.: 174 Meters as well as it's twin Tower.

jasonzed provided this photo of Mississauga when all the development that has been proposed had actually completed work.

As you can see the skyline has the mall as it's focal point.

I like NYCC. Its really cool for a whole lotta reasons.
1. It runs along 1 street "Yonge Street".. like a grande boulevard or somethin
2. Some really nice architecture (especially dubai-inspired architecture)
3. Lots of parks, public space, and greenery.
4. Like caltrane said, its a suburb (good and bad thing)

NYCC is one of the most balances skylines... dare i say ever?.. you can't really find a more balanced skyline in the world. But towers like Hullmark, Gibson, and emerald will change that which is good and bad

Not to mention from the east/west, the skyline appears to extend FOREVER! Its sweet!.. foreigners come over here and say "is that downtown?"... but then i tell them thats just 1 of 3 city centre's that have emerged outside of Downtown toronto (NYCC, Scarborough city centre, and Mississauga city centre)

You can't find any bigger/busier suburbs outside a major city than the one's you get here.. its intense

North York is part of Toronto, though, so it shouldn't be counted separately. Mississauga, though right next door, is a separate city.

The mississauga plan looks like a ring of highrises along 6-8 lane arterials around a superblock. I hope they redevelop the mall in the near future, while restoring a real street grid through it. NYCC is much more mature both in urbanism and density of skyline.

Here is a skyline shot

Ben : Credit Here

North York looking amazing from above.... April 2010.

I counted 8 cranes in that picture....

20 or maybe 20 years from now, I predict North York Center will become a very exciting place... kinda vibrant in the way that Yonge and Eglinton is popping right now. Of course it might be even more interesting than that, if they are still packin'em in like they have been, and the streetscape maintains some visual interest as it has to date with it's touches of Korean and Iran shops.

That aerial is not from this year.

I guess it also matters how you define exciting. Anywhere and anytime must seem pretty "popping" away from Don Mills.
