This building looks simply awesome from across the Park. And it is a tall residential worthy of its location on the Park. Something to celebrate.

I know mechanicals are necessary but that seems like the worst place to have them. such a loss of prime space

The facade is simply breathtaking. I love this building. It's an instant classic.

better than having them taking up penthouse space by the roof. I always think it's silly that so many buildings give their best views and precious outdoor space to air conditioners.

that is true. i don't know im obsessing over it. including the light colored windows they took out 6 full floors in the middle. that seems like a lot. maybe there are some ammenities there too, laundry rooms and such. anyways

What the hell was that crap?

Looked like rust stains from the steel window frames. You'd expect better, from a "luxury" tower.

again, think of it in terms of views. normally the machanical equipment would fit onto 2 or 3 full floors; here it's spread among 6 half-floors because the eastern side is apartments with valuable park views.

Why I like the building.

I can't make up my mind. From a distance it looks great, but the facade leaves alot to be desired.

In time, the limestone will weather to a more uniform color as the same air and rain pollutants discolor it.

Are you crazy? The facade is exactly what makes this building nothing short of spectacular. Can anyone else name another 500ft. plus skyscraper with a honed, limestone facade out there?

That crown is absolutely amazing! And the facade is perfect. I would give anything for a building of this quality in my city.

Does anybody know the name of the building on the upper east side that this building is an exact (but taller) replica of? I've always liked it but I've never knwon the name of it. Now we have the same building, but twice as tall!

WTF? That seems so bizarre considering the superdeluxe nature of this building and it's superstar future residents.

Why would that sadden you? Would you prefer some exclusive establishment most of us don't have enough money to enter without feeling uncomfortable?
