I drove by Stantec just the other day, and was impressed with how massive it looks compared to its surroundings. And like Beedok states, I was thinking how amazing the views will be from up it.

Thanks for the updates. This office block needs to be redeveloped.

It's dated. It's not 50 storeys tall. It's still a high demand, affordable, medical building. Knowing Dream, I'm sure they have big plans for the site. We do need older building stock in the city. Mount Sinai has grown well beyond its main property. This building and the Hydro building provide space allowing them to not have to build another 10 storeys on top of their already 17 storey hospital building. Those condos are too short too.

They must have much different operations back east. Here in Edmonton they recently liquidated four downtown office buildings in what can only be described as a fire sale.

That could be market dynamics at play though

To add: I didn't say they would follow through with those plans. Having plans adds a lot of value in Toronto.

I also heard Dream wants to stick a tower on top of 212 King across the street from Roy Thompson. Given their spectacular collapse over the last two years lets see if either comes to fruition.

They can look at it. I'm probably done with the city if they allow another heritage property to be heavily modified. They wouldn't be looking at it if it wasn't conceivable.

If the current trend continues, every brick heritage building in Downtown West is going to have a glass box stuck on top of it in ten years.
