I stayed there last spring for a work trip. Very nice building. Unfortunately it was not communicated that the rooms are all micro suites with no twin beds available. The bathroom is only separated by a barn door and 4 feet from the bed. Thankfully my fellow traveller happened to be my father as we had only reserved one room and they were solidly booked. Made for an awkward trip lol!

Recent Ottawa projects from Diamond Schmitt Architects.

Former Union Station converted to the temporary home of the Canadian Senate. The east wall was left blank for over 50 years after its neighbor, the Corry Block, one of Ottawa's first mid-rise office towers, was demolished. This has been rectified as part of the renovation and restoration.

The National Arts Centre expansion and renovations, which includes a new glass atrium on Elgin Street, facing Confederation Square. The main entrance used to be behind the building, along the canal. It was a very car-centric design.

Canada Science and Technology Museum's new storage and preservation centre. Larger and more impressive than the museum itself. It brings an impressive piece of architecture to an area that's quite bleak, St-Laurent Boulevard, a suburban/industrial area in the old east end.

It provides plenty of storage for the museum's railway collection, amongst other things.

Diamond Schmitt is also the lead architect on the joint Ottawa Central Library and Library and Archives Canada project, situated at 555 Albert Street on Lebreton Flats, near Pimisi Station and the downtown tunnel portal. The firm is currently consulting with the public on what they would like to see in this new facility. The Library will be 216,000 square feet and cost $193 million. Of that, $70.6 million will be funded by Federal Government for Library and Archives Canada's portion and $20 million on the sale of the old municipal central library in the CBD. The rest will be covered by the City of Ottawa.

The new building is set to open in 2024.

Here's the site, pictured around 2013 as prep-work was beginning for the new Confederation Line. The tunnel portal is today between the trees to the left and the highlighted library location to the right.

Without even giving any respect for its size, everyone should be jealous of the projects in Winnipeg. From public art works to all the quality institutional works: university, art/museum, libraries . . . Winnipeg continues its tradition of excellent mid-scale projects!

Construction of these two townhouses has begun in the St-Sauveur neighbourhood in Quebec City and I find them gorgeously simple and elegant!

Thanx. One of the coolest builds I've ever seen... bet they are tired. Rivals bigger projects in vision, complexity, logistics (city approval nightmares)... remarkable achievement.

No idea how they had time to keep their business open. Bravo.
