Huh. For all the moaning on here, it appears they actually are undergrounding the wires at The Keep. Compare to the October, 2016 Street View and it's clear that they've undergrounded the power and cut the poles off. The telecom wires are still there, but maybe they'll be removed too eventually?

its more bland then awful. theirs enough awful out there, but this is better. A solid C grade as it stands.

It doesn't look dramatically different from the renderings, other than the divisions at the bricked panels and the detail of the large blocks at the top that were less or not visible in the drawings. I still don't like the black sections in the curved window area as it seems out of place with the brickwork and whiteish details of the rest of the building.

All considered, though, I think it actually looks better than a lot of the newer construction I'm seeing around here. It certainly could be worse.

As usual, I'll hold my final opinions until it's finished. Let's see how it looks once all the details are done.

I think it will look a lot better once all the black of the windows and detailing are on.

I was biking past this again on the weekend, and although I don't think it will win awards for design, I actually don't mind it. I agree with Jonovision that I think it will further improve once the detailing goes on, but even now I like, for example, the brick accent that runs horizontally between floors, etc. It is also a building that I find I like better when I see it in person than I do when I see the photos, although I have no idea why.

This is shaping up to be an oddly institutional-looking building especially from the rear view.

I think this will look a lot less institutional once the pedestrian level retail is filled up. IMHO I think this has turned out quite nice (classic).

I think this development will age well. It reminds me a lot of other projects, though the ones I think of are smaller and less tall but still similar in massing and materials. Great size for adding some density to that part of the city, those NIMBY's seemed pretty unreasonable when it came time for this one to get approved.

Passed by this earlier. It still looks remarkably unimpressive and institutional. It will take a last-second Hail Mary play to make this one look a success in my books.

IMO: Looks cheap, worse than the renderings, and placing faux-stone above the faux-brick just calls attention to the overall fauxness of the whole thing. It's mediocre at best, and the curved glass at the corner is tacky and out-of-proportion.

But, the scale is right, and if the storefronts work well along the sidewalk, it'll be a big boost to the area, despite the mediocrity above eye level (similar to the Trillium that way).
