The world, is stupid.

I'll tell you why, because they made seperate islands instead of land masses, it doesn't even look like the world. This could have been so cool. Imagine having walking bridges representing each major bridge which crosses a body of water.

There was a shot of the central park with rapid transit running through it. How integrated is that going to be within the entirity of the city?

^^ The Palm Monorail will be connected with the Red Line of Dubai Metro (Light Rail).

However since there are some 3 km from the entrance to The Palm to the Dubai Metro track path, has to be seen if they will extend the monotrail on-shore till there or the connection will be indirect, via a Tram line that will pass there and ends up to the Mall Of The Emirates station of the Dubai Metro.

The idea of land masses rapresenting continents would have been stupid.

I believe this restaurant is Bar 44 in the Grosvenors (spell?!) House Hotel...

Here are some recent pics of the development... The last shot is of a structure that is part of the massive water park.

I was surprised to find out that the underwater tunnel is open now (one side only). This could’ve happened in the past couple of days since I was there last Wednesday & it was closed.

Sorry about the quality, but I took theses photos with my cell phone. I’m not too impressed with the wall designs… You could see tiled images of the Palm, the World, Palm Deira, and of course the Nakheel logo on the walls.

The sheet metal piles are still in place of course. Still heavy construction is apparent in & around the tunnel. Maybe within 6 months or so it will be fully submerged.
