Any updates on the large, mystical sphere in the lobby?

when it's opening or what it is? I was in there looking at it on Thursday afternoon & asked the security guard standing next to it what it was, he told me it's a theater that will seat 20-30 for some kinda show , I couldn't figure out if he made that up on the spot, it's his standard response, one of many standard responses, or if he was being serious. Whatever it is it would be good if they removed that stupid curtain wall around it, looks like ass the way it is in an otherwise stunning lobby

I really think that most of the love for this building comes from homers with biased opinions. I'm curious if there are people from outside of the region who like this tower.
Amen to all of these statements of resentment. This is so unsophisticated and clumsy. Norman Foster has some nice buildings, but some of them seem like a simple multiplication of a structural bay with diagonal bracing.

my favorite view is from the Vare Ave entrance to the Schuylkill west-bound. You get pretty much the same view as from South St., but with Roberts and FMC more of a part of it.

Is there any safe place to take photos from near that area? I've yet to find one.

There is an old walkway bridge near 3550 Reed Street in Forgotten Bottom; it looks seedy but its about the same angle your talking about if its accessible. I haven't been in that part of town in years.

That walkway has been closed for almost as long as I've been alive and that's 34 years. The entrances are fenced off and even if you managed to get past them, there's nothing on the bridge preventing you from taking a bad step, falling off and becoming roadkill on the Schuylkill.

A friend of mine managed to get on this thing to take some pretty great photos. Probably the closest thing to the vantage point you're talking about.

I have to admit, I was one of the people who didn't like this building and thought it was ugly. However, after seeing it completed and in the skyline it has grown on me quite a bit. I actually think it fits in the skyline nicely. I wonder if the architect purposely designed it so that over time, people grow to like it.

I was middle of the road until very recently. I think its gorgeous from every angle. I surprisingly like the bulkiness of it.

I've been making a ton of trips over the Barry bridge and have seen this. I move back into Drexel tomorrow so hopefully I can post updates should this continue.

??? That bridges didn't cross the Schuykill Expressway; there was a bridge that did but there is another one that crosses the railroad tracks west of it. I may drive down there today to see if its accessible.

I wonder if the view from Bartram Village is nice; there is a meadow just north of the botanical garden and it seems good for flying drones.

If only the lights on the lantern would change color, sticks out so much when everything else is green for the Eagles!
