I don't know...I'm sure his promise to move the Canadian embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem is going to catch fire.

More likely plays well with the Evangelicals and a segment of the Jewish community.

Well, at least he's not a selfie- sock puppet.

Now that O-tac is here, I fear this will become another "Harper BS" thread.......

Cause that would be worse than the hourly regurgitation of "selfie sock puppet, junior, JT drama teacher" we see every single day in the Justin Trudeau thread? If you were to look at his history it would read like something written on repeat by a bot.

And for the record I haven't blindly defended Trudeau either. I've been very critical of him. Electing a Conservative government while Trump is in power is tantamount to national suicide though.

I think they would all be very much in support of that, perhaps we should tap them to staff the embassy!

Yes! Brilliant idea. Have them volunteer for their stupid suicide embassy.

Is Scheer well known in English Canada? He's leading in the polls at the moment, but that doesn't seem enough to jump to a conclusion in the current context.

Lol, good one! All you've been doing is basically complaining that other SSPers are mocking him. (With reason, I'd say.)

Care to point out to posts where you're being "very critical"? I'm curious.

This was the most recent from the #MeToo thread:

This is insane! In this instance Justin Trudeau’s shiny happy people brand of idealism is dangerous.
I was also very critical of his small business tax plan on the JT thread. Sorry it must have been lost in the “selfie sock puppet” morass. Or maybe you were too busy listening to the sound of your own contrarian voice to hear.

Okay, nitpicker... then let's rephrase it to

Pro: has a "ridiculous dress up occurences / time" ratio that is about 50x more reasonable than Justin Trudeau's.

(somewhat amusingly, of the three major federal party leaders, Trudeau is only the second most often ridiculously dressed by my standards; Singh takes the top spot with "100% of the time".)

I suppose I'll just take your word about this one, if you don't want to dig up those old posts of yours. So that's two little things that weren't to your liking, in 2.5 years of this administration. Very critical indeed.

BTW, I'm not very contrarian. I rarely am. Sometimes I'll play devil's advocate but then I'll usually mention it. Thing is, few things are all black or white so whenever we have ideological "extremists" on this forum, whether they're of the all white or all black variety, my position will be to disagree, but that doesn't mean I don't have coherent and unchanging points of view and yardsticks to base my opinions on.

For example,

SSPer #1: "We must shut down the tarsands permanently and completely ASAP!"
lio45: "I disagree"

SSPer #2: "Everyone should shut up and not interfere with all the new pipelines we're going to build in their backyards while we ramp up oil production to maximum possible levels, everything else be damned"
lio45: "I disagree"

SSPer #3: "What a contrarian you are!"
