This project Just broke ground and should be completed but the third quarter 2012. The building will be located next to the organization’s current offices at 800 S. 8th St. at Charleston Boulevard in Downtown Las Vegas.

^Just a thought but I'd imagine it would be easier for people to drive to Victorville and take the train than to drive all the way up to LV.

Still kind of a dumb idea but it isn't absolutely crazy.

I personally hate the desert express plan i was in favor for the meglev . Here is that website..http://www.canv-maglev.com/ Anaheim would have been a better ending point also with stations at Ontario victorville and barstow and primm where a future airport may lie . its just a better plan with a guaranteed better ridership plus its faster

I think this is just part of the whole project. They might extend the line to Anaheim after they get this part finished. It would only make sense to make it closer to downtown LA.

I'm still here.

I'm glad to see progress on both transportation projects. Opening I-11 would be cool, the next big part (in Nevada) is getting through Railroad Pass and around Boulder City.

And as for the train ending in Victorville, I think that's kind of an odd place too, San Bernadino or Anaheim would make more sense, but if they extend it later on, I guess Victorville is at least a good place or now.

Being as I live in LV, I don't know if I would take the train to Victorville, then rent a car into LA, I'd rather drive myself. If it continues on into Anaheim, then maybe. It'd be quicker than driving, for sure.

reminds me of the las vegas monorail - how they didnt connect it to the airport or downtown.......and two days ago the news announced a judge rejected the finiancial plan presented to keep the thing running - saying it will prolong the inevitable of running out of $$$ - so basically it looks like the monorail will be shut down - some think maybe harahs or mgm could buy since they could get affected and benefit from the connection (especially harrahs - er correction caesars entertainment)
