Long overdue. CoF made major upgrades to underground infrastructure last year at Clarke and Union to support this and others in the area

We're in the lull before the construction rush. But as noted earlier, things are fairly quiet so far. We know Masterminds is building in Corbett starting soonish.

NBLC will be opening out there within a few weeks too; they closed the Uptown Centre location today I think.

Downtown Hotel, Downtown Home Hardware are both coming along quite well. Royal T Suites is inhabited now, though they still have some finishing to do on the outsides.

Dollarama apparently announced (on April 1st?) that they want to open up 1700 new stores in the coming year(s). Freddy already has 6 stores, but I'm sure they could easily double that. Let's see... One on Campus, one in New Maryland, one in Devon, one in Marysville, one up at Brookside Mall, one out near Kingswood on Hanwell... That should do it.

Hmmm...I wonder how a combined Dollarama/Tim Hortons would do?

Well, they are planning another 1700 stores nationwide, at least 10 of those will have to be in Freddy......

10 more?!? Well, that might be a bit of a challenge.

Let's see:

* One in Pepper Creek
* One in Brookside Mall area.
* One in Marysville
* One at the top of Campus (serves the Hospital)
* One at the bottom of Campus
* One out around Lincoln (but just in city limits)
* One in Hanwell (also just within city limits)
* One in Devon (get lost Great Canadian Dollar store)
* One out in the Silverwood area.
* One in Lower St Mary's (around the base of the PMB or thereabouts)

And for good measure, not technically in Freddy:
* One in New Maryland
* One out in Keswick Ridge area
* One in Mactaquac
* One in Hanwell proper.

There you go, Dollarama; all the locations for the Freddy area already scouted out, with a few extras to spare.

(What's a bit sad, is probably at least half of those locations would be viable expansion locations)

There was a story over the weekend regarding the site of the former Irving tank farm: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-br...site-1.4050183

Know what would be even scary if you actually predicted all there expansion areas. I don't think they would because some of the areas seem a little close but they could pull a Tim's, or Starbucks. One on every corner.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know why the Starbucks on Prospect was closed for an emergency yesterday morning?

These properties sold earlier this year. I wonder if the new owner plans to redevelop this area? This is bounded by King, Smythe, and Queen. It's ripe for redevelopment.

Not all of that can be developed, the Skatetech building (102 Queen) may be heritage protected IIRC and there will surely be opposition to any demolition of those houses on King.

The sign is now down at NB Liquor on Prospect. This leaves a gaping hole in Uptown Centre.

The new NBLC store at the Corbett Centre opens tomorrow at 2PM. Gonna increase traffic there with Costco, Princess Auto, Home Depot and NBLC now in the same location

I noticed a fair amount of activity along the north east section of Two Nations and Cliffe. Are they planning on widening the road?

From what I know, they do plan to redevelop that area. I had conversations with the new owner a couple of months ago when we were looking for new office space. I was told they could give me a "super great deal", but only for a year because they were going to be demolishing the buildings and building a new complex, or doing extensive renos.
