300 is right...lets get some info on the current projects coming up. Any status on the progress of Met 2 and Brickell Financial Center? Has anyone seen any activity on the Met 3 side or the second phase of BFC?

Okay, you asked for it! These are all my shots, btw.

For that, I will have to use the Metromover. Not sure when I'll be able to get those shots, but it is a good idea for my next project.

Thanks for the pics...The grounds for BFC II and Met3 still look like staging areas for their predecessors.

Cool

Coming from Chicago, to me downtown Miami is extremely quiet, boring, scary sometimes, and the north part tends to be on the extremely dangerous and ugly side. Still, it amazes me how beautiful the skyline is. So many buildings (not really) that you actually think you are in a real city. The buildings are very modern, yet classical, but very interesting. One thing i dont like is the fact that Miami does not have any "special" building/s. Like Sears and John in chicago or ESB and Crysler in NY. It will be so awesome if Miami does get that one tall tower, it would be something different, no balconies, just glass, and yet the best thing about it is that its a supertall. I have mixed feelings about Miami. It amazes me, yet most of the time, it scares me but either way we know its behind Chicago and New York, something 10 years ago was a "yea we such a small skyline, we will never go big". Those pics I find here are extremely outstanding, and the weather in Miami always gives you the advantage of getting just the "right" shot every time. Congrats, on a skyline that together with Chicago and New York, just keep on growing.!!!

You are welcome, and I agree with you in your conclusion. Metromover made for a great spy machine. I couldn't have taken those pics without it.

Would you believe that is the very first shot I made of my Metromover tour? Would make a great postcard. And the last one in my sequence, the shot of the Marquis from ground level up, is AS GOOD AS IT GETS!

Yes, now that I have my own camera and can create my own powerful images, I am shooting the city my way! I've studied skyscraper architecture and history for over 30 years and have owned several picture books and postcards from great skylines. So I have an idea of what I want to do with a camera and skyscrapers.

So Cityseed, how do you like the way I've captured the skyline from ground level? I have taken so many pics since I got my Nikon Coolpix last week, I had to create a thread for them. I am Quantum X from the Brave New Miami on SkyscraperCity and the thread is QuantumPX.

You've done a great job with those pics. You've really shown how Marquis has come along by the different angles...its a very nice building. But my favorite is the one of the Four Seasons between Axis and Infinity. Nice work.

Beautiful buildings! But how in the world can they possibly be building in Miami? isnt it extremely overdeveloped?

Well, the buildings that are under construction are part of the building boom, however there's a lot of buildings on hold or cancelled.
And yes I would say that we are overbuilt, but I hope this brings prices down for the people that live her, However, they will end selling at some point.
Probably someone has a better answer this is just my point of view.
I still love to see the cranes up in the air here in
Miami.
