Very high level structural engineering stuff going on in this building for sure. Not sure if it was included in the original blueprints but neither was the blow through level.

The wind tunnel testing probably required both.

For that reason alone it added on the height of the building from the original numbers.

Carry over from my last post

Edit I watched it the outdoor terrace pool on the top is not a damper. It will certainly be the tallest pool in North America I am sure about that....

But I am pretty sure I heard about the liquid non pool damper I was talking about on this project.....

EDIT

Yep I was right again, I'm not losing it yet. lol

"We also viewed the outside of one of six tanks tucked in the tower’s top. The tanks will hold more than 400,000 gallons of water. When the wind pushes the tower one way, the water will slosh in the opposite direction, joining with the blow-through floor to counteract sway. "

This is such a beautiful building. As was posted on here, the Fox32 segment is all over social media and its funny that even people who are not geeks like us with architecure say that the blow through hole exterior as shown in the clip when done kinda ruins the entire building

I think that is a bit much, but it defintly does not add to the beauty. Maybe it will grow on me with time.

Someone familiar with the site and the glass operation let me know the "Podium" glass is a different contractor than the tower glass. That is why it is on a different schedule.

This is more disruptive than the blow-through floor... I hope this isn't final but sure looks like it.

Use imgur and link?

Side question--are they really letting that dark paneling on the south-facing side just stop halfway (as it looks horrible)?

It's anyone's guess at this point. It is universally hated on this forum.

Hi, that's a good question that I had to figure out when I first started as well. I use Flickr to upload my photos. Then you can "Share" the photos and from there it will give you an option of "BBCode" as the link. Once you do that you can just copy that BBCode and insert that into this forum and it should show up. Play around with the "Preview" option before posting and you should be good to go!

Ah okay great news! That (likely) means there is no trouble installing it and we will get it in due time

So if I have a picture (jpg file) on my PC and I want to insert it into a post in this forum, first I have to upload it to another internet site (e.g., Flickr) and then I can follow the rest of your directions.

There's no way to upload my picture directly to skyscraperpage.

Is this correct?

Correct, that is my understanding at least. I use Imgur.
