My guess is that it would go here, in the empty space in front of the west wing...

Sad they didn't listen to my idea of putting it on the escarpment but at least its slightly different than the Toronto and Ottawa ones (which are basically copies of each other).

Oh Hamilton. That rip-off of the Toronto sign won't bring you fame and fortune. Oyoyoy.

Still, it makes for a great photo-op when you're visiting a city.

I suppose it does. The Hamilton sign is actually kind of cool with its 3D effect.

It's all catering to the millennials, selfie obsessed generation.

Personally I don't care since it didn't cost taxpayers, all private money. However, I kinda wish it was at Gore Park or somewhere on James St N. Hopefully they'll move it over time.

I'm pretty sure the selfie-obsessed generation is going par with the polaroid-obsessed generation. Let's speak not of the brownie-obsessed generation.

The city has finally announced which artist will get to replace the aged-and-removed mural on McBride's Hill. Julie Lewis' submission of a mural commemorating the Great Fire of 1892 won and she'll be starting shortly.

I snapped this photo the other night and thought the developer deserves some recognition. The stained glass windows are from the church that occupied the site. The glass is a depiction of the Halifax Explosion (100 years ago this December).

This is at St. Joseph's Square next to Hydrostone Market which is also a Halifax Explosion memorial.

Some Edmonton content! As part of the Rust Magic festival, over 20 murals were commissioned (I believe about 15 of them permanent). Here's some:

The first 2 of 5 new installations on the recently rejuvenated Capital Boulevard are also installed.

Here you can see an empty slot where one of the last 3 pieces will go as well, to give an idea of placement.

^Edmonton is definitely getting there. Their public realm planning is top notch - they just have to fill in the streets with decent buildings.

96 St. is another good example of this.

Agreed.

Some of those murals are cool. Others are meh. Still nice to see murals going up though. That street going up to the Legislature looks nice. If only they had a mural to cover those bunker office buildings.
