Sam Adams Not Running For Re-Election

Wow, no one is going to comment on the news that Sam isn't running again. Well, here's my comment. I like him as mayor and I wish he'd run, but I also realize what a mess that campaign would be. Where's the next Vera Katz when we need her?

Charlie Hales would be GREAT for Portland.

Totally agree Mark. Charlie Hales is smart, tough and serious. We are a major west coast city, but our city government feels kind of amateurish. Hales won't suffer fools, so I'd expect much more aggressive proactive thinking going on from the entire staff.
