OK, I haven't posted in this thread for a while, I was away for ages and also I got lazy but recently I've been making models again, here are the latest:

Ubora Towers:

South Ridge and the Hanging Gardens in the background (the lowrises)

Emaar towers

New SZR tower in front (around 1000ft) and Al Durrah II in the background at around 1100ft

I just discovered a pretty easy to use program called bryce 5. I think I'll use it from now on to create renders. Here are 2 images I made, the first one isn't so good but I like the 2nd one. I have to find out how to add the water

Thanks!
It took a while of messing around but at least I got something. Looks more like liquid metal though than water

edit: crap I only realised now I forgot to smoothen this before rendering so the curves look choppy

Wow. Impressive work. It looks unnaturally cold for Dubai, though.

I think you might need the the pro version, not sure. You can save your model as a .3ds file which can be loaded into other programs. Just go to file, export, then to "3D model".

Trantor, the al burj tower is in a different area completely.
I actually doubt that tower will ever see the light of day btw.

Malec, the Al Burj is not in a different area.

It was going to be build in THE PALM (and the name of the building was different back then), but it was changed to be build on the Waterfront... taller... and with the Al Burj name.

^^ Trantor, the waterfront is a sort of satellite town/city being planned in the emirate of dubai, that doesn't mean it's in the city though. What my model represents is the main cluster of towers created by the combination of about 5 megaprojects, it contains about 500 or 600 buildings altogether, the other main cluster is the marina area which will have around 200 towers. The waterfront is even further than the marina, it's actually almost halfway between abu dhabi and dubai, that's why I can't represent it on my model. I wish I could make a model of the whole city but unfortunately that would take way too much time and processing power. If you want to see how al burj looks like then here's a quick sketch (viewed from the sea):

One more picture. I won't be posting these en masse since they do take a while to render (10 to 20 minutes)

Al Burj would be actually near the borders with Abu Dhabi.
