C'mon. Apples to Oranges. The Eaton Centre is high value retail. The parking was also rebuilt in the new Ryerson building. The larger east garage was open the whole time during redevelopment.

Sounds good except ground level retail would require significant structural changes. You have to go with what you know. It's just a simple medical centre full of family practitioners, etc. The parking is very handy in that regards. Neither do you usually see re-investment above maintenance put into these buildings.

Yeah, I just mean if it's an important part of the parking infrastructure for the area, it could continue to serve that purpose while becoming less of a blight. Either way I wouldn't bet on it, and I don't know the parking or development needs of that particular block enough to seriously propose something.

It's actually not apples and oranges. They are a block a part and the Eaton Centre Parking lot was always packed. After the tore it down people adjusted. Also RCMI was built just around the corner sans parking lot. The Eaton Centre Parking lot was there for 905ers but even after it was removed the Eaton Centre still remained Toronto's too shopping destination. If that parking lot was removed people that need it would adjust as well. But I get it. I made a point and you're being your typical troll asshole self. Lol so funny.

I welcome you to explain how I was being an asshole. I gave a brief explanation why the two aren't the same. The Eaton Centre has direct access to a subway line. It wasn't the only garage on site when it was temporarily closed for redevelopment. The Eaton Centre is not a medical centre with doctors and technicians that work at multiple locations and patients the come in from even outside the metro for procedures. The parking garage is ugly but it exists and is an asset to tenants. What you're imply is to redevelop simply on the basis of it being ugly. What exactly do you have in mind to make it worthwhile. Condos?

I'm sure this was all wasted time. You're the one who is, once again, arguing for the sake of arguing. RCMI is residential condo consisting of studio apartments. How can you possible think it is relative to the conversation?

I think a more basic question needs to be asked; What do RCMI or a parking garage have anything to do with the 10 Tallest U/C?

Time to update the list.

According to urbantoronto.ca: Ground Broken for Toronto's First 'Supertall', Mizrahi's The One

Digging commenced this morning on The One, an 82-storey tall mixed-use tower that will top off in a couple of years at 306.3 metres or 1005 feet. Sorry Stantec, you've been knocked off the top.

The height of The One needs to be clarified.

The SSP diagram says The One is 307.9 metres: http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=105731

UT says it's 306.3 metres...

Will the real "The One" please stand up?

Oh boy!

Emporis has 308 metres.
Skyscrapercenter has 306.3 metres.

I got the height for an elevation drawing on the city's info centre. However, it was appealed to the OMB. City planners are no longer involved. Can't confirm which is accurate. My guess is both are actually accurate. They are just measured from different things.

Awesome! That's 0.7 metres shorter than One Yonge... where's a face palm when you need one?

Urbantoronto to the rescue
http://urbantoronto.ca/news/2017/05/...storeys-taller

This is also the last elevations I've seen

The roof height is 306.3 metres
The "stand in" for the parapet brings it up to 307.9 metres

IIRC, the zoning bylaw allows for a parapet to extend up to 315 to 320 metres.

As long as it doesn't drop below 1000' (to roof) I'm good.
The One U/C

Nice Telus Sky shots as well - loving that building.

I'm really digging Telus Sky. How far up do office levels go? Hopefully above that brown office building.
