Most up-to-date rendering of the "Two Light" residential tower.
Construction should begin in early 2016.

I want to like this project but it seems so out of place and that burger king is killing me. I wish they could tear it down and find a way to integrate it into another project in that space.

I agree, sort of. That section of Main has a long ways to go, but has to start somewhere. The BK isn't inherently bad (although could use an upgrade), but the parking lot is huge. I do hope MAC finds a way to eventually purchase that BK parcel and incorporate the chain into a mixed-used building in the future.

With MAC adding so many new residents to Midtown, I'm hoping the smoke shops and title loan shops will eventually fade away.

SECOND AND DELAWARE

This is kind of old news but work is about to begin on this project and it was only kind of mentioned in passing earlier in this thread so...

Thanks, it's great to see my home town growing at the rate it is.

Copaken Brooks 13 and Grand Towers
direct across from the Sprint Center.

Their website shows that theirs 21,000 SQFT of 500,000 SQFT left to rent. Hopefully the retail is a City Target.

17th Street and Madison

A proposed apartment complex at 17th Street and Madison would include underground parking spaces to help public demand in a busy West Side neighborhood.

This is one of the biggest projects to hit KC... obviously not because of the scale of the project, but the location. We need to start building west of 35 like yesterday.

thanks, rumor has it that three light will have a major retailer on the ground floors due to it being directly on the streetcar route.

Does anyone know what is going on with the construction in front of Richard Berkley River Front Park?

Edit

found this

http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascit...-begin-in.html

They have a lot of work to do to meet a mid 2016 deadline it looks like.

The Port Authority put in this request about 2 weeks ago so it seems as if work will begin soon.
