Thanks for the explanation, close-up, and article explaining what's going on there. Impressive building.

That article's author is even more confused than I was though.

Great pic. Shows the northside setback. They have most of the formwork for
the last section of the current floor in place!
Then it takes off.

^ Yep, and that photo also shows really well how much simpler, more consistent, and more compact the floors are from here on out.

This also marks FLOOR 10. Which WHU (sp?) told us will be the start of the fly upward.

this new floor seems almost like a half floor in height. Maybe that's just in comparison to what is below this floor, or maybe this is the new normal.

New normal. You can also see what look like outlines for the larger extended-stay rooms for the Element Hotel portion of the building.

It's hard to tell because of the angle of the pictures thisisforreal is posting but this building is at least 150 feet tall right now.

Are the two hotels side by side (both on each floor) or stacked on top of each other? And is Element a extended stay hotel completely or do they have a variety of room types?

Being John Malkovich was/is a great weird movie, and was just what I thought of when I first saw what appears to be a short floor, but couldn't remember the name. Thanks, net flicks tonight!

That's a young Octavia Spencer as "Woman in Elevator". One of her first roles in Hollywood.

Yeah, I also noticed that. She kills it with that crowbar! Mary Kay Place also nails it as the receptionist. Gotta love those quirky indie films.

Element Hotel is lower floors. W Hotel is higher, more valuable, floors.

All extended stay hotels that I know of are what they are = 1) Often larger floor plans with kitchenette and/or parlor, and 2) They will offer nightly rates on them of course. $$. You don't have to do a minimum night stay.. ..unless there's like a Pope in town and or something and they want to gauge. I have found lately that a lot of people avoid extended stay options because the concept confuses them and they think it's exclusive to extended stay uses only. But these hotels are great for people who like more space such as families in traveling sports leagues, yada yada.
