I walked by it today on Halsted. Not a fan. A giant parking base facing a retail street

A real missed opportunity - but the action will move a bit west - Green and Peoria will be hopping.

Page 1 rendering looks a little more elegant, maybe the parking elevated a bit away from the street. Photo shows what looks more like a traditional parking garage down to street level.

Actually that area isnt that great, the walgreens lot, bank, TV station and event the marianos and whole foods are not all that welcoming. Throw in the fact that that section is where everyone is trying to get to 90/94 makes it a auto sewer. Honestly, with all the development in the Fulton area it is only going to get worse. I know everyone on here hates cars and people should take public tran BUT, they exist and a lot more people will be coming into those offices and there really are not that many options from 90/94 in and out of that area.

Yeah I agree. I hardly ever go to the West Loop and I guess I was expecting more but I was only on was that section of Halsted. Honestly though that building has good views from afar but close the opposite, just wow - I now understand that West Loop organization

Actually I really don't know know about that community organization in the West Loop. I'm all for height, make One South Halsted 100 stories tall but something needs to be done about the bases of these highrises.

It is a shame. Part of that stretch of Halsted is a handsome vintage street.

Her curves are sexy, unlike those Daisy Dukes walking by a young Gerry Reinsdorf?

I love this building - minus the base. The rest of it is pretty cool.

Yeah, this building looks great from afar, and absolutely atrocious from Halsted.

Real buildings have curves and are eXtra T H I C C

In regards to people commenting on the base, I find it even funnier how the side that faces the expressway is quite well done, but the side that will see pedestrians is disgusting... Good from afar, far from good

It's actually VE'd buildings that are extra thick.

I would like to see this in person but Solar has a great camera so i'm guessing it looks that squat in person. I've never seen a 500 foot tall building look so short.
