More unsettling news, I emailed both of their main web addresses info@capitalpointe.ca and info@reginalandmark.com and both got returned with this message.

"Delivery to the following recipient failed"

That's somewhat weird considering they just recently published that short PDF article with news and such.

I spoke with Jeremiah Edmonds from the Chamberlain architects who are designing this project and he says the project is still a go and that they are in the process of setting up the spring sales dept sometime in April.

I wonder if they're getting ready to begin demolition and the disconnected number was located in the old hotel.

Never know... they could have been using it as a base until they rent the space for their sales office. Then they shift everything over there. From what we were told, the hotel has been closed since Jan or so, so the space would have been available. Sure it wouldn't have been the classiest of digs, but at that point in the project they wouldn't have had to impress potential buyers.

Then again... it doesn't explain why e-mail addresses wouldn't have been working...

It is interesting that they have hired a Toronto PR firm that appears to specialize in high rise condo promotion. Makes sense.

Capital pointe project goes to planning commission next week for approval of changes. Looks like hotel goes from 8 to 9 stories with a green roof, (nice) and condo tower to 82.84 metres, just shy of a new tallest. So close but Delta still rules the sky.

Does that height include the spire?

In fact, looking at the documents, it appears the spire is NOT included in that height. So if you're willing to count the spire, we may very well have a new tallest.

But then, does the Delta height include any communications masts, and if not, should it?

CKTV news at 600pm tonight announced that the tower will top out at 26 floors and is to be 3 meters taller than the Delta.
The old Plains hotel is to be demolished in August with construction starting in the fall.
This building is going to look awsome in Regina's skyline.

A huge multi-storey banner has gone up on the front of the Plains advertising Capital Pointe.
