I am back from Toronto for the holidays and I had a chance on the 23rd to take an hour or so walk through SEFC and take a few pictures. True to form, Vancouver provided an overcast and rainy day, despite the fact the previous two had been beautiful. It was good to be back and see how things had progressed during the fall. Maynards Block is a bit of a disappointment in its flat colouring. Hopefully it will come alive with light and motion once it is occupied. James is looking good. I especially like the townhouses. Wall Centre False Creek and the new Pinnacle Living False Creek project are both progressing nicely but are not far enough along to pass judgment on how they will add to the neighbourhood. Well, here are the photos.

Close up of the Cambie Street Bridge-facing lower units of Maynards Block. The recently added extra-wide sidewalk on the east side of Cambie Street from 8th Avenue north will continue down beside Maynards Block and eventually lead all the way to the Seawall. I'm happy to see a distinctly commercial expression for the storefronts that will face onto this widened sidewalk for half of the length of the building.
