Those neighborhoods are simply gorgeous. I've driven through Grant Park and was absolutely impressed with the architecture of the older homes and the new construction had character as well...It seems inner city Atlanta is growing well.
Wow, everything is so shiny, clean, and new. I wonder how that city will age with time.
Only the new construction is shiny, clean and new. This title of this thread includes (new developments). There is the other 90% of the city that isn't new and it seems to be aging fine. Sections of it have been aging for 100 years or more...
Nice pictures of the new construction...keep 'em coming.
Though I am a diehard city man, I agree Atlanta has some of the most attractive suburbs I have seen, it makes you want to live in it.
Those aren't suburbs my friend...they are all in the city and very near central downtown, with the exception of Buckhead (which is in the city of Atlanta but not as near downtown as the others).
Nice photos of Midtown, every time I return home(atlanta) I'm really impressed with its' transformation. This area of the ATL was pretty seedy 20 or so years ago. Can't wait to move to Midtown in the next couple of years.
wow, Atlanta's Midtown and Downtown look very nice. I would have to say that I couldn't agree on the rest of the city. crime and poverty.
Re: Crime -- I moved to the ATL in 2001 and left about 4 months ago for SF. I can say that the crime rates improved dramatically during my 6 years of living there. Ever since Chief Pennington came up from New Orleans the city's crime has steadily gone down and continues to improve. Bravo, Chief Pennington.
Re: Poverty -- All cities have depressed areas. Atlanta is no exception. However I will say that it has (and this is speculation on my part) probably the highest concentration of wealth in the entire South, with the exception of maybe Miami.
In my six great years in the ATL, crime dropped dramatically and I saw a steady increase in affluence. Good for Atlanta.

and Dallas, and Houston (if you consider those cities in the South)
