Time was, I would have agreed with you. A lot of people absolutely hated the TA Pyramid when it was opened. But now, it has become as much of a San Francisco icon as the bridges are.

I did say that the skyscraper is better than the lowrise. On page 1 I said to find a current building and state if the current building is better, worse, or same compared to what was on the site prior. Transamerica is better than what was on the site before, and now has reached iconic status.

New York has lost so many great buildings that have been replaced by equally great buildings. Makes me wish that they had been able to find some other locations for the newer ones instead of replacing what was there.

I still can't believe that hotel was ever demolished. Even when the guy that bought it in 1977 tried to save it; then Bally's took a controlling interest in the project and tore down the Marlborough.

Just another step in the Trump-ization of Atlantic City.
