I would vote for building this one across the water in Jersey- Problem is Freedom Tower looks too similar.

WOW, the Old WTC twin towers are in the picture & look very tiny. (I know, this building was planed in 1996 before 9-11). If this tower was built back then while the Twins Towers were still standing, the WTC Twin Towers would of looked like the Chrysler Building being viewed from the top of the Empire State Building. Hmmm, it sure does look like the new 1WTC Freedom Tower Design. And this building would of been built on the Lower East Side??? Wow, I could just imagine what the view of the NYC skyline would of looked like from across the River on the BQE.

I don't know. To me the building is too skinny on the top, and too fat on the bottom. One World Trade Center correct those errors by balancing it's with at the top, and the bottom.

^^^I'm going to take the first half of your comment as a compliment...I think that's how it was intended.

1 wtc is a more balanced design but the skyline would've looked good with both

Yep, after seeing STR's nice renders, it doesn't look so good anymore. The height is perfect for NYC, but the design is lacking. Too much taper, methinks.

I can't believe they didn't build this, the money was certainly there at the time. Maybe not the best spot to build, but still what a loss.

Supertalls on the fringe... that would have been the exact opposite of a pyramidal skyline.

Very similar to 1WTC. I can't really tell which one is better. They both look awesome.

This was just a taller version of the Freedom Tower ..... or the Freedom Tower is a shorter version of this.

I wish that at some point in the 2030's or so they would build this tower, only with twice the dimensions, meaning it would have 1092 m roof height

Not a fan of this tower. I generally don't like when it tapers from the base.

It looks sleeker and more elegant than 1WTC in my opinion. This tower tapers from any angle whereas the 1WTC doesn't. Just needs some alteration at the base

I think this would be awesome. That big one, the NYSE tower proposal reminds me of that "Shard" in London.

The height sure is great, but I don't like the design that much. Mostly because it tapers from the very beginning.
