We don't have lots of Art Deco here, we have more of Jugend/Art Nouveau, and later on "funktionalism". I would say though, that Hotel Savoy could be labelled Art Deco:

Malmö Opera - art deco? Well, that's just stupid!

I would probably call Siriuspalatset (Kv. Eric Menved) art deco as well - at least "our version" of art deco. It's a great building in fact (wish I could find pictures of it).

^ I have pic of Siriuspalatset! Yeh, it's art deco-ish. And funkis-ish.

And then what isn't funkis-ish up here?

Great photo. Damn I hate the rest of Kv. Eric Menved and Caroli City.

Sorry, off topic...

Belle Shore Apartment Hotel, Edgewater, Chicago; Nathaniel Koenigsberg & Leon Weisfeld, 1928-29. King Tut was very big then, as you can see. Lots of polychrome terra cotta.

I always thought of the MI6 building as Cesar Pelli-meets-Gozer the Gozerian.

Art Deco - Victoria, BC, Canada

I just found this pic and I totally forgot about it! When I served in the Navy I used to walk by it a 1000 times and did not even look at the architecture only at the clock. Across the street there is a bus station where I always did take my bus to Vancouver.

This is a Water Front tower. Right now a tourist Info.

Here's a Deco photo or two that I took in the Quad City area. There are many more examples of Art Deco in the metro, such as the beautiful Adler Theater, but this is all I have at the moment.

Rock Island (Rocky) High School (1935)

Details, Rock Island High School.

5th Ave Building, Moline. (1930)

Details of 5th Ave Building.

Early, almost PRE-Deco examples.
DT Davenport. (1923)

DT Rock Island. (1926)

Signage. DT Davenport.

Just a few of those London buildings are most def not art deco but for the most part they are. I hadn't realized that London had so many. Most European cities have very few examples of deco.

I'm surprised you forgot some of Salt Lake's tallest art-deco, TANGELD_SLC.

Salt Lake Tribune Building:

The Hotel Monaco is another:

Ogden High School, in the town of Ogden, Utah (40 miles north of SLC), is art-deco and pretty much the coolest looking high school in the state.

There are also a number of art-deco homes throughout the city. Like this, in the Salt Lake Avenue's neighborhood:

Also, the W.P. Fuller Paint Building is art-deco:

LOL I didn't even think of the Trib building, Comrade! Thanks for posting those. I never realized the Monaco was Art Deco.

Are West, East and South High Schools also Art Deco?

West High could be...

East High I guess could be considered faux-art deco, but I'm not sure if you could call it that.

The old South High, now Salt Lake Community College's South City campus, is, though.

They should have filmed High School Musical at West High instead of East. It's so much more attractive, IMO.

That may be true, but Worcester has at least one Deco building that I could find. This is the Worcester telegraph building, built in 1928. It's not that tall, but its position on top of a hill overlooking downtown (and the antennae on the roof) still gives it some prominence.

It appears to be under renovation.
