This project has been alot of fun following up on. Their website is fun to look at since they up date it with new photos everyweek. The stadium sure has change the Sandy City Skyline. It makes Sandy feel a little more dense.

We all need to get over it already. Sandy got the stadium they got the funding from the State, we're all pissed about it. But come on Urbanboy give me a break. So you would rather them drown in debt than be successfull, and have a vacant state of the art facility rather than one that contributes to the local (albeit Sandy) economy and sucks even more money from the state and county to finish paying it off. Some image that gives the Metro, good luck getting MLB or NFL EVER if that is the case.

GET OVER IT!

I agree. The idea is that we want to give the image that Salt Lake Country can support these teams that we have already. If MLS fails, then Salt Lake Fails on ever getting any more teams here. Such as MLB or NFL.
Having the Stadium in Sandy isn't the big picture. The big picture here is telling the rest of the county "Hey, Salt Lake is ready." We have the market and the demand to support our teams. Expand here.

As a sports fan in the Salt Lake Valley I have to say that I'm much happier that the stadium was built in Sandy rather than not at all. I live downtown and would have loved to see a real urban facility but that was never in the works. Mr. Holding was never ready to part with his ground. If I was a team owner and my choices were the Salt Lake FairPark or Sandy...well guess what I would've chose Sandy as well.

It looks as though it will be a beautiful facility and I'm really looking forward to the next season.

I have to say all of my fellow soccer fans in the valley that I'm aware of are just excited for the Real to have a their own home.

Now the tough part is here...winning games. Good luck in '08!

Real Salt Lake's new stadium is about 60 percent complete. (Jeffrey D. Allred, Deseret Morning News)

That's awesome. I really like the last pic with the model and the color of the seats. I plan on going opening day to see the first game at the new stadium.

As soccer stadiums go, this is one of the nicest in the country. I'll be glad to get this show going.

I don't hate soccer - not a fan of it by any means though. I hate the fact that this team with a shitty record over the last 3 years [2005: 5-22-5, 2006: 10-13-9 and 2007: 6-15-9] and its owner intimidated the legislature into raising taxes for this stadium. I'm sure the stadium will be nice but I can think of a hundred better things to do with $35 million that was paid from taxes.

I know old news, whats done is done, yadda yadda yadda......

Sorry, I don't buy it.. If it were a sport that you loved, you would be pleased as punch to get a new stadium/arena.

I love broadway shows, but I wouldn't be excited to go to a broadway show if the theater were built in Sandy.

What a waste of time, and money. If you look closely at that model you can see Tom Dolan and Dave Checketts sitting in the front row, and .... whats this they are holding hands....

I knew something was up between those two.

the truth comes out...

btw, we wont get over it...ever. big mistake.

Careful Viperlord, I'm sure that this is very insulting to anyone who is gay , lesbian , or bisexual . Using homosexuality as an insult or pejorative is most inappropriate!
