Well I've built a few columns in my time and I can assure you that those are indeed rather thick columns.

An update, the tower will be 441.8m and 98 stories. CTBUH got that height confirmed by the architect: http://buildingdb.ctbuh.org/index.ph...uilding_id=173

yeah how and why do they keep doing that???

anyways, it's a sexy structure. i wish there was something else besides that egg at the top. i mean, they have a GREAT chance to create a multi-level hanging garden with meeting space and a restaurant/observation deck.

although i like the egg it's just too bland. a wood structure or more plants would make it look better.

Boo to sub-par cladding! BOOO I SAY!

Looks way too Tour Montparnasse-ish. More blue and more shine, please.

you call that sub par?

it looks pretty good to me. and it's a nice refreshment from the extremely opaque, warped, reflective towers. maybe making it a lighter blue, but that looks lie a dark turquoise to me. it's still fine though.

Please change to thread title again to 1,440ft (441m)!

The 460m value seems to be a hoax of a Chinese forum, according to the guys at SSC. A friend of mine from the CTBUH confirmed that a said that this is measured from sealevel.
