Stockholm is at one or two after a grenade/bomb of some sort exploded in the subway.

In the past years there have been several attacks with some sorts of handgrenades in Swedens 3 biggest cities. 2016 an 8 year old boy was killed in Gothenburg after a handgrenade was thrown into an apartment.

Oakland is at 4, after a stabbing last week in east Oakland.
SF is at 3 after a stabbing and shooting in Oceanview and the Tenderloin, over the weekend.

I don't think SJ has had one yet.

That's a much lower rate than previous years. 21 murders in 17 days.

Has it been too cold to kill? If your target is holed up in his apartment and not hangin' on the corner, it's more difficult to take him out. It's also more difficult for that same guy in the apartment to retaliate.

SF is at 5 after shootings in the sunset district and bernal heights. A homeless man was also burned to death in the mission district, though its not clear if it was murder or an accident. The cops are treating it as "suspicious".

I was looking into it because it seemed odd that there was such relative frequency of grenade attacks in Sweden when you never really hear about them anywhere else.

Apparently a bunch of excess grenades from the civil war in the Balkans are showing up throughout organized crime groups in Sweden. This article says that they're tossed in as an extra sweetener when buying other black market weapons. You know, like a rewards program for illegal firearms.

Toronto is at 4 for this year, but police recently charged a man with the murder of 5 missing men that had been killed by him over the last several years and there may be more -- he is being characterized as a serial killer who prowled the gay village.
