Well the building behind the crane in this picture is Shun Hing Square, the current tallest in Shenzhen. And IIRC, the building on the left behind the other crane is over 200m.

So not exactly sitting all by itself.

I think this is my favorite supertall in China. I love the observatory/greenhouse thingy on top.

I used to live in Guangzhou, I am getting this feeling of Shenzhen and Guangzhou being twin city, they have around the same populartion, same among of super tall, a good subway system. They might just want to call Guangzhou and Shenzhen "Twin Center"... So how i have an feeling of the Guangzhou Twin Tower being 440 M tall.

Is that eye shaped part of the construction the footprint of this tower? Because thats pretty huge! And I feel like it's surrounded by too many small structures. There should be a small park/plaza built on the river side. And the backstreet is pretty thin too! Wider streets, more high-rises, and it'll be an amazing skyline!

From looking at the rendering, it looks like the tower would b directly above the tallest green box, to the left of the eye shaped part

That core looks too big for the building. I love the design and all but I wonder how it will look at over 1000 feet. It looks very thin in some of the pictures, I hope it doesn't look too thin. And those columns are sooooo big! It makes me wonder if this building is just being built for height instead of office space. I guess I'll have to wait more to see how it turns out and how smaller the core will get as it rises.
