I count at least 23 floors.

What part is the new re-clad - the top or bottom ?

They're just making it look like a slightly different building from the 1970s.

I think the top part is....that's generally how recladding projects go....(from the top). This reclad looks almost unnecessary on a design point, except for efficiencies sake.

I think it was a typo - this tower has 25 floors, not 15.

I generally don't like major design changes with reclads. They seldom turn out better. See photo above. I like how the Vancouver tower looks except for the white spandrel used on the corners.

I can't see how this will be more effecient. They are going to have ago constantly run the hvac system for half they year because of the clear glass, it's going to be an oven inside otherwise. Stupidest thing for a city that wants to be green to allow buildings to use clear glass

Correct, my clumsy fingers hit a 1 instead of a 2. The tower is 25 storeys.

It's nice they aren't replacing the glass with clear glass like we do in Vancouver!

It's not going grey when complete. That's actually what it looks like with the black panel's removed. The entire tower is being glad with reflective silver glass.

It's so bad. What the hell were they thinking when they decided on this look?

The building comes off as black in most light but it's actually a blue glass. It's too bad it is so dark, a lighter colour would have really brightened up the skyline.

Agreed. Not usually a fan of re-clad's especially when they change the original architect's intent however in the case of fugly towers like Winnipeg Square the toning down of the design actually looks rather nice. It definitely looks much more future forward and a building that wouldn't look out of place in 2058, which is kinda the point...

As for Simpson's Tower? I didn't think that building could get ANY uglier, alas...
