Based on the webcam it looks like the crane is at its maximum height.

It would be interesting to see what it looks like from the waterfront or the Citadel. The library itself should be fairly visible once complete since there aren't many tall buildings around it.

This has been a very slow process, I am doubtful they will have it done today. These are some pictures I took yesterday and today:

Library foundation to be poured soon
February 13, 2012 - 6:41pm BY REMO ZACCAGNA BUSINESS REPORTER

Quote:
Work on the $55-million central library in Halifax has reached a milestone, says the municipality’s project manager.

While excavation of the site at Spring Garden Road and Queen Street began in September, a crane was mounted there recently, signalling that work is progressing well, said Terry Gallagher, Halifax Regional Municipality’s manager of facility development.

Looks like a small part of the library will be visible from that angle, once it's done. Cool!

^ No kidding.
Is the library really going to be that tall? I was expecting a crane half that height.

Yeah I know its 5 floors but those floor heights could vary widely. Im just commenting because that looks like a crane that would be used for atleast a 10 story building.

The cantilever where the "living room" is going, is actually going to be the equivalent height of 2 floors, with high ceilings. I imagine the other floors will have high-ish ceilings, as well.

I would imagine so, they usually build to just below the cranes arm .

Pretty cool, I hope is visible from a lot of different angles
