Flames and Canucks tonight, so one of them will get a W as well.

Wow is the league actually sending a real message to dirty players this year?

20 games for Wilson.

Saw this pickup truck at GO train station yesterday. Ever seen for yourself a car with say Oilers/Flames stickers? Any other rivalries in sports?

Got this at Hortons today. I've seen them for Argos, Jays and TFC. Must be Raps as well but never noticed.

Do they do this in the other cities?

Apparently Wilson will have to pay $1 260 162.60 in fines (his salary is $1.1M) accoring to Gino Reda. Now that's a message!

He's not paying a fine, just forfeiting 25% (20/82) of his new $5.1 million salary.

Edit: Also lol at paying a guy who has 4 suspensions in 105 games $5 mil

Still a pretty strong message! What happens with the money, do the Caps keep it or does it go into some league fund?

Yeah. A strong message with the suspension, but a stronger message that one can still make a great income by being a cementhead on the ice.

Based on that, I predict Montreal winning their first game of the season tonight and Bergevin riding that win throughout the season like some sort of beacon that what he is doing is awesome.

Or, the Leafs beat the Canadiens 9-1 and Price has a heated confrontation with Julien saying "that's the last [] game I'm playing for the Canadiens."

It goes to the Emergency Assistance Fund. Helps mostly former players with financial problems. If you had bad salary management and have a health issue later in life, the fund would help pay for treatment.

This is just the NHL coming around to the fact that they approved a contract that pays Tom ducking Wilson 5 million a year.

I was offered Toronto Maple Leaf stamps at the post office. We both burst out laughing. Not laughing at the team, but the thought of selling them in a rival city.

Washington absolutely destroying Boston on the power play. Four of five in a six nothing second period lead. I liked seeing Oshie score 24 seconds in. If I was going to pick a player to do that it would be Oshie.

Oh my that was ugly. Leafs won on pure talent alone.

After three years my patience grows thin for Babcock's inability to accept anything other than a two line stretch pass as the only viable option for clearing our own zone.

Also, I'm a huge Pettersson fanboy already. That kid is disgusting.

Pettersson with an impressive debut. Ripped one top corner and a good looking assist in only 9:47 of ice time.

Was the Canucks PK that good or the Flames powerplay that bad. Calgary 0 for 7.
