BOISE | JUMP project

Not exactly sure where this belongs. It's not a high-rise, but it is a significant, $70-million, 7-story, 107-foot high structure and urban park currently under construction in downtown Boise.

A brief description: JUMP (which stands for Jack's Urban Meeting Place in honor of former Boisean businessman and billionaire Jack Simplot, who passed away a few years ago) consists of a 400-space underground parking garage, an above-the-ground parking facility, and multiple floors of meeting space along with a 3-acre park. The facility will offer various classes, art work, meeting spaces and an outdoor amphitheater.

Here are the latest renderings:

Construction is well underway as digging for the underground garage began about a month ago.

Here's an image that shows the location and size of this project. The large lot in the middle of the picture is the spot; the white fence around the perimeter show the actual footprint.

This image was taken about two months ago.

new aerial rendering of the site:

we also just heard that the company building this complex will be constructing a 10-story headquarters tower in this same vicinity, and are hoping to break ground on that structure in late 2013.

actually, it's not a library at all.

it's a multifunctional facility that will house a variety of studios that are available for community use including a kitchen studio, dance studio, crafts studio, multi-media studio and an innovator's studio. it'll also include below and above ground parking, civic meeting spaces, a landscaped park, a water feature, sculpture garden and an outdoor amphitheater.

think "culinary academy" -- essentially, the kitchens can be leased for various cooking classes.

not sure about the total parking spaces. i do know that there will be 400 underground parking spaces, but there will also be a multi-story above-ground structure.

the company that's building it will also be building a new corporate tower on the space, and the employees will be using these lots for their parking. the company currently has 900 employees and are growing, so i would imagine they need to have more than just the 400 underground spaces.

Looks to me you've got a nice foundation for that building. I like the modern architecture of the building and can't wait to see more photos

i haven't seen technical plans, but the project's website does say there will be 400 underground parking spaces, and more above ground.
