When I walked by yesterday morning the tower crane was moving large loads of rebar into the hole

San Fran has gotten a lot of really great skyscrapers recently, I hope it continues.

aha, great shot, good find.

(as has been mentioned before, but I just got reminded again, those Salesforce logos really mar the appearance of the buildings in the upper-left-hand corner. they look like decals a 7-year-old puts on the corner post of his bed and then regrets as a 10-year-old)

They're enough to make a NIMBY out of me.

Thanks for posting that, rocketman. I've been dying to get a better view of the pit. Definitely lots of rebar down there and from the looks of the staging area, still a lot more to install. One of these weekends there will be a massive pour.

Re logos: It's possible to tastefully add signage to a building, but those are just slapped on there with no regard to aesthetics. It's especially troubling on 350 Mission with that gorgeous glass. We should probably prepare ourselves for the same treatment on this tower: a big blue blob around the 6th floor, likely facing the plaza.

Not only tons of rebar down there, but are those white tubes for cooling the concrete as it sets? Perhaps it won't be too much longer before the big pour.

Pulled from the constructions cam at about 1:30pm today.

I don't know how tall the nearby towers are, but I get a sense of skyscraper density in that area!

802', 645', 605', 600' are or will be (under construction) the tallest ones next to it. The towers on Rincon Hill are accentuated by their increased elevation, especially One Rincon Hill's taller tower that shows as approximately 741'.

There was an endless argument about how tall One Rincon Hill really is. Its lobby is on top of a hill, but it has a podium built into the side of the hill. So where do you measure from?

Silly. Using that logic, you could say that a ranch house in Denver is over 5000 feet tall. Building height is typically measured from the ground floor.

What's great about the Salesforce Tower cam is you can see six skyscrapers in various stages of construction.

Speaking of the construction camera. Just about all of the rebar in the staging area has been used up... Unless they get another big shipment, we may have that huge mat pour this weekend!

Bad comparison. Rincon hill is 100 feet taller than most of downtown SF as well as much of the rest of the city/bay area where you can get a view of it. So from a distance one rincon looks similar in height to 555 California, even though it's 130' shorter. Is ranch house on a 5000' hill where it towers above the rest of downtown Denver? No, it's the entire city of Denver that's 5000' high. That's why it's a bad comparison...were talking relativity here...the "prominence" if you will (to use geologic/mountaineering terms), of the building relative to the surrounding city.

Nobody said the building was taller, but that it looked taller because it is on a hill and surrounded by other buildings.

In the diagram below, which buildings look tallest? Which buildings actually are tallest?

^No clue, but they've already been moved to wherever they are needed. Also noticed the small crane that has been working in the corner just to the upper right of the tower crane (as seen from the construction cam) has folded up and looks ready to leave. Hopefully, to make way for a couple of pumpers.

BTW, welcome to the forum!

The guys had a nice catered lunch today (maybe they reached a big milestone with all that rebar) and I noticed that the roads around the site will be closed - I think this coming Sunday
