Are there any renderings of the top of the retail platform on 1199 Ludlow? I haven't seen any. Is the whole thing going to be a outdoor deck/amenity deck for residents? It's huge!

I believe part of it (the section facing 12th) is supposed to be outdoor area for residents. This info was in the CDR docs

That's great. I was worried they weren't going to start the 2nd tower right away.

Can someone add the second east market tower to our city database...not sure how you go about doing that. That database could also use some cleaning up, as 2021 Chestnut has been complete for almost 2 years now and still reads u/c. Also, quite alot of our proposed buildings have been canceled or stalled for some time now.

I was going to downsize the photo, but for those who have trouble viewing because they're going blind..... and besides, size does matter.

I was wondering that myself. I watched them on the webcam as they first poured that, and then formed and poured the rest of that floor in the following days. But it doesn't look like that depression will be part of the tower, itself, since it's just outside the stubs for the tower columns.

Also, they were pouring a lot of concrete on the floor(s) below over the past week or so, and I was hoping that they were doing all that in preparation for starting on the tower.

Maybe that's where the pool will go? That's all I can think of.

That was my first thought, but it looked too shallow for a full size depth pool.
Maybe a "lounging" area where shoppers can go to look at their purchases, you know, holding up the shirts they just bought, or whatever. Maybe a food court of some kind might be designated in the inner building to extend to the outside lounging area. Or maybe where they might plant trees or shrubbery of some kind. Yes, Philly Fan, it is on the outside. So the footprint of the building won't be as wide or long, however you look at it. We shall see.
I hope they do a better job with the façade, as far as alarming onlookers!

PS: Another thought: It could be for a pond, with water in it with a fountain in the center of it.

And to think that they could have made that a rooftop village. Or even a rooftop Wendy's.

No more calls, we have a winner. A pool it is.
I forgot about the original rendering. So, I went back to look at it again.
I see now that the tower is not as wide and long as I remember. Somehow I remembered it being the full foot print of the retail section.
Boy, it's going to be a tiny foot print. Maybe to let the sunlight through. Which is good, but the poolside looks like it may be on the "shady" side. No need to bring your sun screener lotions.

WHAT?? NO WENDYS??? What a bummer.....
