This list is interesting, but kind of sad especially considering the BOW will soon be off it. And I don't just mean in comparison to the GTA, things have really cooled down from previous years.

Maybe it would be a good idea to make a top 25 proposals outside the GTA list as well? There's a lot of promising developments in the pipeline.

So outside the GTA, Vancouver and area are the dominant construction players.

Perhaps I should remove all the non-Toronto projects from the existing Top 10 U/C and Top 25 Proposals threads so as to make them exclusive to Toronto. It's better to avoid overlap between the existing threads and these new "rest of Canada" threads.

There is always merit to getting more projects out there although there are already multiple threads to do it however, the title of the thread is ridiculous and the intentions are downright pathetic. Heavens forbid that some list is dominating by one city. It's so un-Canadian.

What's next ? A list of Canada's tallest outside the GTA and GRVD? Can't have Vancouver dominate a list like that. Then, a list of Canada's tallest outside the GTA, GVRD and Calgary?

Now now WhipperSnapper... if some cities feel left out because they're simply not building tall enough to be in the "tallest" list, that might hurt their self-esteems. Everybody should get to feel like they're building the "tallest" in Canada, even when they're not. In fact, I'd recommend creating a third, non-Toronto/Vancouver list, because it seems like the greater Vancouver area is just too dominant in the non-GTA thread.

Just think of these threads as Participation Trophies... because everybody is special!

Here's a newsflash: Unlike Toronto, Edmonton and Quebec have their own dedicated boards (yes, entire boards) under the Canada subsection on SSP. You can find them easily at the top of the Canada subsection page. And all those projects that you were formerly unaware of have been discussed there extensively. You have only yourself to blame for having never bothered to check them out.

The notion that projects from the rest of Canada don't have a platform to be presented and discussed is downright laughable. In fact, the Top 10 U/C and 25 Proposals threads are essentially the only real exposure that Toronto projects get on this entire website.... but what the hell, let's just find a way to work around that as well, right?

I rather see a Your-city's-nicest-tower thread than this collection of mostly umremarkable suburban piles.

True enough, we have 2 non-tallest highrise construction threads in this forum. You could have put this list in the highrise thread.

You can do this within the SSP database or visit the city sub-forums. The Canadian section however should be inclusive to all. Taking the GTA out of the equation is hardly an accurate portrayal of the country's tallest buildings under construction. The last thing this section needs is another construction thread.

I'd like to see every city have a compilation list with an identical format in each of their respective sub-forum and a sticky at the top of the Canadian section with a link to each compilation thread. These would be separate from the city discussion/mega threads in that the Canadian section would be closed to comment and each of the compilation threads would be only open to updates. Ah, one can dream.

The altitude is 124m. It was announced as Montreal's tallest residential construction when it started and the Port-Royal stands at 122m.
