Flar does Hamilton Ontario like 70% of the time, and there's no other city in Canada that quite mixes heavy industry and old brick.

I like people to look at the photos without any preconceptions. The city name will always come out in the comments.

It does seem that way.

Thanks for bumping these threads back to page 1.

Birmingham's too grand a comparison. I think somewhere on these boards we decided that the closest analogue for Hamilton would be Sheffield. Sheffield's also nicknamed the "Steel City," after all.

This one really shows off Hamilton's similarity to the US midwest in parts of the city. You don't get rows of houses like this in Toronto.

I took some of those shots from the roof of Landmark Place, 43 stories above the city. It was something I always wanted to do, so when I learned I would be moving to Ottawa, I decided to arrange a trip to the top of the building. Unfotunately I was sick and it was very windy and cold, so the conditions were not ideal. I also had pretty shitty camera equipment at the time. But there are some amazing views up there.

I have a photographic memory when it comes to audio if not video, and I'll just go on record as saying I have every note of every part of just about every SD song recorded in my memory banks. It's both super sweet and super depressing, just like every SD ever recorded.

No static at all......
