Holy half-timbering, Batman!

I've never seen a cathedral like this one before. Incredible. The way it's situated on the banks of the river reminds me a bit of Durham Cathedral in England. Thanks for the tour!

The Lahn valley has some excellent castles, too, some set on crags like that church.

Why did I visit Rothenburg when I could have gone to Limburg and avoided the crowds? Absolutely gorgeous.

Great pics!

Is Limburg traditionally Catholic? I thought this part of Hesse was Lutheran, but the church looks Catholic.

The southern part of hessian is largely Lutheran, but the northern is more Catholic. Limburg itself is the seat of the diocese of Limburg the covers the biggest part of Hessen.
