I wasn't crazy about Bayfront Plaza when I first saw renderings, but now seeing it in it's place in the skyline, I'm really looking forward to seeing it go up!

Perhaps its already been asked and I missed it, but how many of these gorgeous condo's are going to sit empty most of the year?

How many are just being bought as weekend homes buy some rich guy/gal?

As nice as they look, if they arent full yr round with locals, seems to be missing the point.

More reality in the Miami condo world:

Feels like the 80's all over again.

So the Miami condo market is about to have 48,000 units for sale? Incredible. As exciting as all the new developments are...it will take 20 years to fill them all. Not good news for Florida.

All those condos can hardly be bad news for Miami (plenty of places to live). The bad news for Miami, IMO, is that this boom came and went without getting up a lot of what I'd consider distinctive designs (and possibly not even a new tallest).

I think we're overlooking the postive in all this: Miami should be able to fill at least one shiny new office tower with all the bankruptcy and credit counseling services likely to be in high demand over the next few years.

Does anyone know if & when Skyline @ Mary Brickell Village will begin to rise..., To me, that's The Most Exciting project out there..., If Publix or another supermarket fills the space on the ground floor then, you practically wouldn't have to leave the building to do your grocery shopping, get in a workout @ Bally's or @ Skyline's own gym for it's residents, have a drink @ Blue Martini, a Latte @ Starbucks (wish it were a Barnie's...,) & so on & so on..., This project should have been sold out w/ actual homeowners & done a long time ago. I wonder what's taking so long...,

I'm not sure of its official status but there is no work going on at Skyline right now at all. I heard publix pulled out of the space due to construction delays and the interior of the bldg. is still far from even nearing completion. At least the eastern part of the development is moving along well. Cool place to get some food at night.
