Thanks, the vantage point is from the library roof, which is a great public space with nice views in various directions. Highly recommended if you're ever in town.

Oh, hey, Mcminsen, I think I was standing right beside you when you took these shots. Were you wearing a white ‘provincetown’ ball cap and a light denim shirt? Did you then walk across to The Post where a guy in a blue plaid shirt was hogging your view of the interior? That was me. :-)

Ah, THAT's the mega-column!
It looks thicker than the other mega-column to the south.

Yeah, that's more worthy of the title! Chunky.

Thanks for the updates. I like seeing steel construction; it's an interesting change of pace from cast-in-place concrete.

Thanks for the interesting perspective. The ratio of core to floor area never ceases to amaze me. Clearly, vertical circulation and associated waiting/alighting floor areas are essential to the functionality of a tower, but, wow, is a lot of space dedicated to this. I wonder if we will ever move to double-decker elevators and double-level ground floor lobbies as a way to save space?

Some of those buildings in China or even buildings Like Salesforce in SF only have a narrow ring of office space on the lower floors where elevator banks take up lots of room.
