What city would you want to pair Austin with? (taken from City Discussions)

I just made this post on the main thread. Thought we could bring it over here for a more focused look at Austin.

How about Austin and Corpus Christi? I really enjoy my trips to CC. You get the bay, the ocean, the CenTex lakes and hills, fresh & salt water fishing, Port Aransas, Padre Island National Seashore. TexMex, tacos, bbq + seafood. Austin is high tech. Corpus has manufacturing and a port.

I wish! haha I'd be down there every weekend. Port Aransas was always our summertime hangout. So many memories there.

Austin / Orlando, but I too like Austin / Corpus. Up till a few years ago, CC was my annual vacation spot. Now its NY.
I put Orlando first because its a major tourist destination with contrasting attractions and vibes.
I'm not familiar with the "pairing discussion" thread, so my choices are based purely on entertainment, not economics or simularity.
Austin / Boise?

I would say San Antonio since both cities have distinct personalities and offer unique experiences. Yeah, I know the metros are already paired.

Also, we are just one county (Fayette) away from Austin, San Antonio and Houston being adjoining metros.

I agree with this. Having San Antonio historic buildings and it's riverwalk combining that with Austin sleek towers and Capitol would make one heck of a city!
