The empty lot behind the building in the forefront is where this is proposed. It is a fairly small lot so this condo/apartment will more than likely be in the 10-12 floor range.

There’s a rendered image in April 9 council minutes. It will be 8 stories, if it’s approved...

I think you’re right. I was eyeing this one up today and was thinking the same thing. Have that lot filled in with the old yellow home removed will improve the look of their street for sure.

That yellow house, the city will wait until school is over, then they'll tear it down. Wait and see! The primary purpose was to remove the house to make that corner safe for pedestrians and drivers. Hate to be cynical, but it's nearly May.

I agree! If you live downtown then you should expect this. Go for it, Tim!
It's about time this city looks beyond complainers and allow development to take its course. If they want people to live downtown, then the many complaints or opposition they have heard in the past, should right about now be getting old. It's always the same complaints. It's too tall, too much traffic, too much sewage, too much noise, etc. City Hall should be getting sick of it. I think the city knows what it can handle, so it's about time we moved on with it. Build it!

Looks like all is a go to continue with the Hampton Inn hotel:

18-141, 386557, 100-BLD-18 27-Mar-18 17-Apr-18, 300 Capital Drive, New hotel, Fitgerald & Snow (2010) Ltd. 8-May-18

I was past there earlier and there is heavy equipment in place and earth has been moved to allow for the equipment.

Ok, there will be lots of construction in that area:
- this new building
- the new fire hall
- the new seniors complex
and
the land on the corner of the Sherwood Rd and
Malpeque Rd is sold to Seafood Express.
Lots happening!

There is a small crane in position. It's starting to move along now.

The seniors complex on Malpeque Rd keeps on getting bigger. The roof was started on the first section. Once that is completed, the second half will start.

Some new renderings of the apartment/condos on Richmond/Haviland Street.

From the Developer;

"Lots of exciting projects coming forward... this one is a 100 unit quality apartment complex (NOT CONDOS) on Haviland Street looking out the Harbour @ChtownPE with two levels of enclosed parking, lots of amenities and direct access to Boardwalk with Dec 1, 2019 occupancy"

The old North River rink is no more. It was torn down last fall and the new land will be used for improved access for the North River Fire Dept. I believe they will also be improving the access of York Point Rd to Capital Drive.
There also has been some development across the road in the form of the three floor apartment building. It was recently completed and soon to have a finished parking lot when the asphalt is being made again.

They've started a second apartment building beside the newly built apartment. I seem to remember that there will be 3 buildings total.
