I won't argue against it looking cheap, but the solution used is at least functional (and not something disingenuous like false window with opaque panes).

I'll admit, I never noticed these development holes until I started compulsively reading this forum. Now when I walk by that area I glower like I've been fiercely insulted.

Yeah, most of the stuff around the Rock n Roll McDonald's needs to go. There are some historic buildings I'd like to see saved, but the Portillo's, Rainforest Cafe, old Sports Authority, Post Office, BP Gas Station, Ohio House, and River North Hotel (Best Western) need to come down. The RnRMD's parking lot needs to go as well. The actual RnRMD's can stay just because it is somewhat unique. Fogo de Chao also needs to go.

Basically I want almost everything north of Ohio, south of Erie, east of Wells, and west of Dearborn razed.

I agree on Portillos staying, and it isn't just the fact that the food there is amazing. The way Portillos designs their restaurants is much less offensive than other places and looks relatively natural. Also no parking lot is a plus

Portillos is just a fake mall-like place, with great food. Ohio House - that has history, authenticity, and memories.
