Southern Vietnam: Saigon

Took a two week trip to Cambodia and Vietnam. First day in Vietnam. For the short time I got to spend in Saigon, I was actually surprised how much I liked the city - it was a lot more developed than I had anticipated. At first I thought crossing the streets in this vast city was impossible until after observing the locals. I found that if you hesitate to cross, you will never get anywhere; you have to be confident! If you don't, you'll surely get run over.

Lush. Love the motor bikes, old and new buildings, and 34/35 are WOW.

Thanks for your pictures. Very nice shots of daily life in Saigon. The city looks very crowded, like many other Oriental cities. I like its bustle.

Rural Vietnam has amazing landscapes, like you show.

About your last picture: I think it´s Hong Kong, am I right?

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain .

fantastic - looking forward to seeing more!

i cant help but think of springsteen lyrics:

"Saigon, it was all gone
The same Coke machines
As the streets I grew on
Down in a mesquite canyon
We come walking along the ridge
Me and the brothers under the bridge"

Entertaining and eye-opening (the first pic) set. The streets scenes look like semi-controlled chaos. Almost got sent there in '72, but orders changed. Thanks for sharing your fascinating trip.

Capitalism in all its glory.

Saigon looks so vibrant. Vietnam looks so lush and green. Beautiful pictures
