They couldn't have put up one of the nice renderings on the hoarding?

That render looks like something I would have drawn.
As a kid growing up, I used to draw soaring skyscrapers.
Just pen & paper.
No computer, no Internet, just freehand drawing.

That's hilarious. It looks like the white space was blank and someone walking along the street stopped and sketched in the skyscraper.

So this is the outcome the genius NYC building code leaves us with. Absurd.

Amazing how this won't really stand out. Just was thinking about how 99 Hudson seems so dominant, but this is quite pale. Nevertheless, a "new tallest for many cities" thats rising as a filler here.

I might not be properly contextualizing your use of "dark"; but you do realize that it'll have an almost blackish complexion based on current renderings.

And for where it is in the DT node, I find it a bit hard to swallow to that something 13 feet shorter than none other than 1CMP/28 Liberty doesn't somehow insinuate itself therein(to).

But by the same token, it seems to me that while you correctly observe that thiswould be a new tallest by far in a lot of mid-size American cities, the overall architecture doesn't seem to resonate with that kind of swagger, if you will...

Scale models by radii inc

https://static1.squarespace.com/stat...g?format=1500w

How do I upload images in my post? radii inc has some scale models I'd like to include but this forum makes the process of including images very onerous and not worth the effort.

Have a feeling this will be ugly A.F. (like most of Adjaye's buildings, frankly).

Would bet it ends up looking like one of those ugly-ass black 1970s rectanglescrapers. Brutal without specifically being Brutalist.

I was pretty hesitant when I saw this. Prefab concrete? What could go wrong!?!

Turns out it looks alright; holding judgment. The arches play off the surroundings quite well. I think we are at that point where mid-century arches are retro and coming back in. I am curious to see how it weathers (looks wet) and ages.

Also, its priced relatively affordable compared to other new construction in the area - I think below $2K per square foot.

There was an article that said the arches were structural and that this building might "contain the most structural arches used on a building in modern times." Those definitely are not structural.

An extra perspective. 130 William, forefront, with One Seaport, background facing East River.
