The reason I ask about the crown because it will really make or break the tower. Different renderings show the crown differently. In the pcp website, it seems different from the sf tower official website. What gives?

There isn’t really a point in giving commentary on something that doesn’t exist yet. It’s going to look how it looks. Based off of the cladding already complete, I would assume the crown will continue with the same quality.

That drawing makes it look even more bulbous and phallic. Especially compared to a rendering from a similar angle on the Salesforce Tower website which look more angular and sleek.

Hopefully the tower looks more like what we see on the SFT website. Otherwise we're literally getting a d*** as the centerpiece of our skyline.

^^Both of those renderings make the building look more prominent than I think it will when the surrounding structures including Oceanwide but also those on Howard and Folsom are finished.

yeah they're pretty close together. Salesforce tower is only 165 ft taller than Oceanwide so it won't pop out THAT much. Though I like Oceanwide center's design a bit more.

In regards to the two photos...I see two completely different buildings.

"Bulbous and phallic"? Geez, are you taliking about an office building or a male porn star? And no we're not "literally getting a d***". Maybe figuratively in your mind, but happily not literally. The Salesforce Tower has apparently sent the phallus-obsessed into a tizzy.

I'm just saying the drawing of Salesforce Tower on the Chase Center website is terrible. I don't think (at least I hope) it doesn't actually look like that.

Render art aside, the building itself is sleek, modern and awesome. I have changed my mind--once I preferred the other choices in the "beauty contest", but no longer.

First View of the Skin from the Civic Center

This afternoon I noticed the skin on the Salesforce tower is now visible from my 27th floor apartment. It is highly reflective.

I hate to be a bugger, but man this tower really sets off my OCD. The first set of windows without the fins were never really in any other renderings. Does anyone know if they'll stay naked or will get dressed once the enterance windows are put in place?

Not sure what you're referring to. Do you have pictures?

Interesting but not surprising. Pelli (the SFT architect) is doing the Parcel F site as well. In their renderings of Parcel F, they clearly portray Salesforce Tower as being very reflective in the background.

If you look at the ground level, you'll see the cladding is like the one at level 4. But the first glass windows actually installed do not have that same treatment.

Looks like the windows don't have the fins/cladding along Mission St even in the renderings.
